Collapses at 1700 meters – allows holiday travel to a height of 4032 meters – VG

PROPER HEIGHT TEST: Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold had to return home from the Olympics after collapsing early in the hunt at 1700 meters. This holiday he actually climbed the peak in the US – at an altitude of 4,032 meters.

She passed out and walked with bangs during a biathlon competition at height. Then it might come as a bit of a surprise that Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (25) left part of the holiday at 4000 meters.

– We are on vacation in the US and in Colorado we are at high altitude, but I don’t go to altitude immediately after the end of the season. It’s great to see how your body works when you’re on vacation at altitude. On high collections you have a very focus, now that’s secondary. We did some hiking with randonee skis and reached 4000 meters for the first time. It was a bit of a luxury, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold told VG.

On Instagram, he shared photos of his vacation at 4032 meters with the message “it was great to reach his first 4000 meter stop, especially for someone who is known to love walking at 1500 meters”.

During the Olympics in Beijing at 1700 meters, he completely passed out and struggled to reach the finish line early in the hunt where he would take bronze. The 25-year-old never started his last Olympic training and returned home on orders from the national team doctor.

Medal hunting field

Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold has gone up several levels over the years. One of the reasons was because the 25-year-old was one of those who went to the bottom of the dungeon when he had a medal or a good position. It also happened to him during the Olympics.

– That’s what we thought. During the Olympics, I went all the way to the dungeons. Being completely empty at low altitudes is one thing, doing the same thing at high altitude is something completely different. It’s also a bit about ditching races that I might be able to master better. At the Olympics there are also extreme conditions, and what happened there motivated me so much to do my best job in the future so that it will never happen again. It will feel extra good when I am on the podium again.

Landmark Tandrevold said he had admitted to himself that he wasn’t that tall.

– Have a bluff maker in the team

– I will respect it. That’s something I have to work on for the championships to come. “I know I’m not the easiest person to climb heights, but that’s not why I went on vacation to Colorado,” the 25-year-old said.

He was present at Skøyen when next season’s national team was presented last week. That Tiril Eckhoff and Marte Olsbu Røiseland are still part of the world’s best women’s national biathlon team is no surprise to Tandrevold.

– To be honest, I never thought they would post. They didn’t fool me. “I have two bluffers on the team,” Tandrevold said and laughed well.

– You see in both that neither of them is “full” biathlon. They pursue development and want to be better. They may be more insecure than I thought, but deep down I feel they will continue. I’m not worried.
