– I was considered for one of the bigger roles in “The Fast and the Furious”.

– Why didn't you get it?

– Looks like Clint Eastwood's son got the role, says Daniel Stisen with high expectations for a breakthrough in 2017.

Big goals at the gym dad

So far he has starred in 40-50 films and series without getting the biggest role.

– No, I haven't reached my goal, but I'm on a good track. The goal is to become one of the five biggest actors in Europe, he says, and points to increasing interest from producers who are now calling more frequently.

Daniel Stisen now lives in London. At home in Mandal over the Christmas holidays, much time was spent pumping iron at his father's gym, where he grew up and setting ambitious goals for himself:

– My father taught me that by pointing to Arnold Schwarzenegger. When I was young, I read all about his way of thinking and his crazy mentality. Later in life I used it myself.

In the boys' rooms there are posters of Schwarzenegger, and it's films like Conan and Rocky that matter.

– I have to be good at English, because I'm going to Hollywood to make films, Stisen said at the age of 10 to his teacher.

At the age of 16, he lifted 95 kilograms in the bench press and took first place in a regional championship where he competed for Kristiansand Atletklubb.

Prejudice and crossover

Stisen is eager to break down the traditional boundaries and prejudices that Southern Norway is known for.

– No, you shouldn't do that, people say. Instead, I said okay; I will be the best in the world at this. Then you just have to give him gas and don't care what anyone else thinks.

– I come from a family that prioritizes faith. That means something to me. It's also a reminder of where I come from, he explains.

Now he trains to maintain his muscles to be suitable for the toughest roles in action films. He had taken courses to be able to ride a horse and wield a sword.

– I want to play the role well, he said impolitely and without a hint of joking.

Younger brother Markus also took part in today's strength training, who believes Daniel has what it takes:

– My sister is someone who doesn't fit into normal society. He dares to think big, is ambitious and passionate, but there is madness inside him. At the same time, he has good values.
