We at Unge meninger have asked for greetings from young people wanting to thank their teachers, on the eve of the school year!

Below are some of the contributions we received.

SNORRE VENN (21)

From three to five on average

In my second year of high school, I couldn’t continue, and took a year off. When I started school again, I got a teacher, Mats.

He made the lessons very interesting, while teaching me how to write properly. Something that helps in all other subjects. A very supportive teacher, who always has time for what I want to know.

Snorre Venn (21) has sent his greetings to his teacher Mats.

I went from an average of 3.1 to an average of 5.25. Which is still completely unreal! I never thought I’d be able to sneak up on such high numbers.

But thanks to Mats, I became very capable of learning and very good at social studies theory. It really helped me at a time when I didn’t quite understand who I should be.

I hope Mats at Askim High School sees this one day. He deserved to hear how capable he was. And how important he is.

JULIE BARTH (21)

Don’t give up on anyone

In high school I had a really hard time, with some subjects I felt I would never be able to master. It was hard being in school, and I couldn’t bear to try.

I had a cheerful and friendly teacher who did not give in to anyone.

Julie Barth (21), student.

Every class he taught us things in a way that made it more interesting or easier to work with. He has a good variety in work assignments and learning methods.

Many times I got stuck on a subject but each time he was there to help with whatever I needed. He never provides conclusions, but golden opportunities and answers that point students in the right direction.

AJLA GASAL (17)

The biggest compliment in the world

Thanks for teaching me physics
Who taught me math,
technology subjects,
who is the contact teacher
for curious students, and no doubt troublesome with endless questions.
With endless hands in the air that should complement, or step a bit outside the theme.

Thanks to those of you who love hops so much,
which made me think a little about the hiss,

every spring that comes after that.
And who has the neatest OneNote in the world.

For those of you who listen to Elliott Smith and the girl in red.
Who’s so easy to talk to,
and very good at jumping rope.
As feedback small signed 🙂
when we delivered well. It is and will be the greatest compliment in the world.

Thanks to you, Jon Olav, for making the school a little bit better,
and life a little easier.

OLE NYGÃ…RD HAUGEN (15)

Nynorsk is fun!

I want to thank my teacher Anne Marie. He had made something as ugly as Nynorsk into a simple and enjoyable subject. He is also a very extraordinary person!

I was, as he himself called me, “a man of resistance” when it came to Nynorsk, but with his help, I scored a six.

Anne Marie is a cheerful, wonderful, smart and committed teacher who is always willing to go the extra mile. Thank you for these wonderful years. Thank you for being you!

WILLIAM BERTELSEN MARCUSSEN (17)

The world’s best principal

I want to pay tribute to the world’s best principals and teachers.

He has helped me through high school, and I am so grateful for that.

I also couldn’t imagine that there was a principal who cared so much about the students, and did as much to help them, as he did.

Sometimes I have to sit in his office and work if for some reason I can’t sit in class.

You can only find good principals in Mo’s children’s schools and junior high schools, writes William Bertelsen Marcussen (17) about his principal and teacher Jahn Olav.

Those classes meant I left elementary and high school with my diploma grades.

He has said it himself, that two people came up to him and wished him a happy weekend – me and another teacher. I know he appreciates that, and I miss being able to do that.

If something at school breaks down, he puts on a new hat for every different thing he fixes. We just need a janitor to paint, change lights and mow the lawn if he doesn’t have time to fix it himself.

When we go on school trips, he is often the one driving. If we lack a teacher or substitute, it is he who takes the lessons.

He always stood up for everyone, and that meant a lot.

You can only find good principals in junior high school and Mo’s children. I appreciate you, Jahn Olav. And I will never forget you!
