Everyone in Minecraft builds, he destroys. It took five years to destroy the entire map

From time to time on our site we will show you some impressive buildings in Minecraft, which skilled players have spent thousands of hours building. Just last month it was a copy of Hogwarts (our article), before that we already offered, for example, Tolkien’s Middle Earth (our article), a copy of the historic Corfe Castle ruins (our article) or even a fictional city the size of Los Angeles (our article).

Most players in Minecraft build, YouTuber Minthical destroys.

Of course, not everyone has an understanding of such entertainment, as some consider it a waste of time. However, most people in our country have an understanding for similar enthusiastic activities, even if the results are purely virtual and the bread will not be cheaper because of them. Entertainment is also necessary in human life.

However, it was much more difficult to understand the motivations of a player who appeared on the Internet under the nickname Minthical. Unlike the projects mentioned above, it doesn’t create anything, but instead destroys it. He set a goal to “dismantle” the entire Minecraft map and destroy every block it made.

Of course, the act of destruction as a symbol of defiance is as old as humanity itself, but Minthical doesn’t give any clues on how to understand his project called Bedrock Massacre. He was even more excited about it.

Yes, from the pictures, the results of thousands of hours of labor do not look very impressive.

The well-known rule that it is much easier to destroy than to build holds maximum in the case of Minecraft in terms of intellectual demands. The disassembly itself is very time consuming.

At first, the Minthical map had roughly forty-seven million separate cubes, each of which had to be mined individually. To make things less easy, he initiates destruction in a mode called Survivor, which means his avatar is threatened by monsters and tormented by hunger and thirst. What’s more, he also had to be careful with the work tools, which were constantly being destroyed – he was said to have thrown away more than five thousand axes.

And that’s not the only impressive number. Minthical plays the PS4 version of the game, which has counted over ten thousand hours of in-game time. At the same time, he recorded his game on YouTube, the videos of which had a total of about two thousand hours. I accidentally clicked on some of them and it wasn’t that much fun. No wonder he didn’t gain more than fifty followers in the first two years. Today, he already had forty-five thousand, which only convinced him of the significance of the project.

And why is Minthical doing this at all? In one of the videos, he rather pathetically claims that he is not only “building his legacy” in this way, but he is even “helping others build their own legacy that will last for years.” He felt criticism and ridicule from people outside the community, but disagreed that it was a waste of time. It is said that those who do not play Minecraft do not understand that after completing a project, people will remember his name (or rather, an internet nickname) forever. However, to defend herself a bit, she said that she has a full-time job and doesn’t stream every day, but only every day, sometimes she even takes longer breaks.

And what will he do when his work is finally done, which is supposed to be around next month? It will begin in a new map – The Bedrock Massacre is said to be only the first part of a planned trilogy of “dimensional massacres”.
