Extend the search for the missing submarine

American authorities expanded the search area for the Titan submarines, which are gathering in the North Atlantic, on Tuesday afternoon Norwegian time, and Tuesday morning local time.

They spent the night searching for submarines in an area the size of the state of Connecticut.

– We are now expanding the search underwater, Adm. John Mauger in the US Coast Guard told CNN.

Here’s what we know about the submarine:

Titan had five people on board and was supposed to dive into the wreck of the “Titanic” about 700 km off the coast of Newfoundland. The submarine is scheduled to appear again on Sunday.

Norwegian photographer and adventurer Jannicke Mikkelsen was a teammate and close friend of British adventurer Hamish Harding, one of five people who went missing after tourists dived into the “Titanic” shipwreck.

Mikkelsen has direct contact with Harding’s immediate family and rescue centers in the US.

He informed Dagbladet on Tuesday that they had yet to receive any new updates, and they were all waiting to hear something about the missing submarine.

On Tuesday, said marine biologist Simon Boxall of the University of Southampton Sky News that the submarine must have sent a distress signal, but it is not known when it was sent.

– I don’t know if this was sent automatically or sent from someone on the ship, said Boxall.

oxygen for 96 hours

Davis Concannon, one of the company’s advisers, stated that they lost contact with the sub early Sunday morning. On board the submarine there must be oxygen for use in an emergency that will last 96 hours.

It was assumed that it would run out around 11:30am Thursday morning, Norwegian time.

Extend the search for the missing submarine

To BBC said David Pogue, a CBS journalist who made the same expedition in the sub last year, that it was impossible to escape without help. According to him, the passengers were sealed inside the ship with bolts.

It must be detached externally from the outside.

British authorities are also monitoring the situation. The UK Ministry of Defense has given a statement, among others Independent stated that the rescue operation would be very difficult because of the depth the ship was in.

According to the MoD, it may be much deeper than a NATO rescue submarine can dive.

Looking at the sea surface

A massive rescue operation has been launched, with the help of the United States and Canadian coast guards, among others. Canada’s defense is also helping.

Among other things, the aircraft is searching for submarines on the surface, because at the moment it does not rule out that these submarines have resurfaced.

First Rear Adm. of the US Coast Guard, John W Maugner, has also explained that they use subs to listen in on the subs, wrote Sky News.

Experts explain that the main problem of a rescue operation, if the submarine is at sea, is its depth. Only highly specialized submarines can reach a depth of 3,800 meters.

Submarines are operated by sending messages to the carrier every 15 minutes. This should stop.
