Jakob Ingebrigtsen caused a stir abroad

Jakob Ingebrigtsen once had a mixed championship.

It was a success on track, but off the track caused controversy after a family argument with his father Gjert.

His brother Henrik was also involved in a controversy with Narve Gilje Nordås after receiving comments from Nordås.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen did not allow himself to be swayed by this, and in the end took the gold.

The championship attracted attention, also in foreign media circles.

SVT track and field commentator Jakob Hård praised the young star.

– I think Ingebrigtsen is an inspiration and a great role model for someone who came from the Nordics and became the world’s best at medium and long distances. I know that he is a role model and inspiration for Andreas Almgren, said Hård NRK.

There are many Norwegians involved in sport every day. Viktor Hovland recently won the PGA Tour overall in golf, Erling Braut Haaland is one of the world’s best soccer players and Casper Ruud is a great tennis player.

Hård believes not many people in Sweden are bitter about Norway’s success.

– I have never heard of anyone being jealous and resentful of the Norwegians, but quite the opposite. Jakob showed him the way.
