News, Nordmøre | Nordmøringer at the world’s largest education conference

Nettverk Nordmøre works with the quality development of the nursery sector in Nordmøre. On behalf of the municipalities of Aure, Averøy, Gjemnes, Kristiansund, Smøla, Sunndal, Surnadal and Tingvoll, Nettverk Nordmøre is invited to Showcase at ICSEI (International Congress of school effectiveness and improvement) in Stavanger 8 – 12 January.

Here’s what the network wrote in its press release.

ICSEI is the world’s largest educational conference, whose first meeting was held in 1988. This was the first time the conference was held in Norway, with the University of Stavanger as the organizer. More than 800 participants from all over the world took part. The participants are the most central researchers in the field of education today, national authorities, professional organizations, as well as managers and teachers from schools and kindergartens nationally and internationally.

To share the work in the Nettverk Nordmøre exhibition “Together we create the future – Nordmøre region 2040”, students, parents, shopkeepers, kindergarten councils, school principals, deputy mayors, councilors and educational professionals from different cities participated. The development work was supported financially by the District Governors of Møre and Romsdal and KS.

Students Elise Brøske and Benjamin Rønning from Surnadal welcomed us with: “Now we will talk about our future!”. During the session, participants from Nordmøre took turns being interviewed and answering questions from the more than 230 participants in the room.

The aim is to create a reflection of one’s own practice and learning for the participants both on stage and in the hall. The exhibition ended with the network receiving a lot of good advice regarding the future of the project. Nettverk Nordmøre has received good feedback regarding the content and form of the exhibition.

– It is motivating for us that the work at Nordmøre was chosen to represent Norway as an exhibition in a large and important global meeting place for the field of education, and also to receive international attention, wrote the head of Nettverk Nordmøre, Astrid Mogstad Høivik in a press release.
