Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arkadiusz Mularczyk would ask the United Nations for reparations from Germany. As he said on Program 1 of Radio Poland, he intends to ask for intervention.

The head of the team that compiled the reparations report also said that his activities over the last three months had focused on the internationalization of compensation issues. He said more than 50 diplomatic notes were sent, including to EU and NATO countries, as well as to organizations such as UNESCO and the Council of Europe.

In early October, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau signed a diplomatic note addressed to Germany regarding reparations. In the document, Poland asked Germany to immediately resolve the issue of Poland’s defeat regarding the German occupation during World War II. Zbigniew Rau also met with the head of German diplomacy. Annalena Baerbock later judged that “reparations matter from that point of view government federal closed. Okay message is that we have the same future.”

On September 1, 2022, Jarosław Kaczyński announced that the Polish government would demand compensation from Germany for the damage caused during World War II. – This is our goal, which is part of the overall concept of restoring normality in terms of the functioning of the Polish state – said the president of Law and Justice.

– Germany invaded Poland and caused great damage to us. The occupation was deeply criminal, extremely cruel and had consequences that in many cases continue to this day. We cannot ignore this just because someone thinks that Poland is in a special position, radically inferior to other countries, and Poland to other countries – he said, adding that “we are entering a path that will last a long time and will not be easy.”

Politician informed that Polish losses calculated over PLN 6 trillion 220 billion. – This amount is completely manageable for the German economy and does not overburden it – said the former prime minister, adding that “compensations for the deaths of more than 5.2 million Polish citizens make up a very significant part of this amount”.
