REVIEWS: How to get a million for a new stage

Vilém Dubnička is an actor, presenter, director and lyricist with extensive experience on the Pilsen theater stage, as well as the founder and key character of the Theater Summer under the Pilsen Sky. He dedicated himself to original works, cabaret, wrote songs for children and adults, published anthologies of unconventional reading texts. In the comedy Milión, he shows a good knowledge of the theater environment and especially the psychology of the people who work in it.

Famous stage director Martén was eaten by stage worms. For a new one, he needed one million euros, for which he asked for his patron, Mr Petitér, whom no one had ever seen. He is handled by his representative, amateur actor Jean, whom Martén does not consider an equal partner and shows him this very arrogantly. But this Jean has a number of tricks up her sleeve, with which she will force her sap into some shameful acts.

Dubnička can write fast and witty dialogue with a number of humorous points, and as a director he has created dynamic productions that entertain audiences and keep them tense. Apart from entertainment, some of the more serious thoughts about theatre, its meaning and how to reach the audience will also fall on the stage. If the play lacks something, it is a lack of dramaturgical cooperation. The watch briefcase is a form that requires skill and economy in the articulation of the theme. But in Milion, a number of interesting observations are only bitten and immediately run away, to rush back to the new one.

After all, this is a text thanking the actors, which the protagonist takes full advantage of. Hynek ermák as the confident and successful Martén captivates the audience in his movements and mime details with his playful impatience and suppressed rage, he is irresistible in the scene when Jean forces him to show his acting skills. Vladimír Polívka kept a certain secret from Jean about who he really was, enjoying the gradually gaining advantage over his opponent until the very end. He still had to work on the clarity of his stage speech. Both actors enjoy their partnership with each other and are fun to watch. In Milión, the Bez Zabradlí Theater won a grateful comedy production, not only appealing to lovers of the theater and its scenes.
