Shocking news from abroad! Vořáček allegedly at risk of ending his career | Hokej. cz

Bad news has come from abroad regarding Czech striker Jakub Voráček. According to information from The Athletic’s official website, there is a high probability that Voracek will end his career due to frequent concussions.

The 33-year-old winger hasn’t played sharp in a month, the last time he appeared on the ice was on November 4 against Colorado.

The reason for his absence was the concussion he suffered in a match against the Avalanche during the NHL Global Series in Finland.

And journalist Aaron Portzline of website The Athletic provided an update on Voracek’s health on Sunday…

“His long-term health was the most important factor in this case.”

According to his information, there was concern in the organization whether he would ever play in another NHL game. Specifics will be provided by Voráček himself on Monday in a press conference at the Nationwide Arena.

The Blue Jackets released a statement on their official website on Friday, which according to doctors had advised the Czech international not to play hockey until his remaining symptoms had subsided.

“We don’t expect a solution anytime soon. We will give Jake as much time as he needs because his long-term health is the most important factor in this case,” said Columbus general manager Jarmo Kekäläinen.

“I’m more afraid that he has a normal life. He has a young family.”

Voráček has suffered concussions several times during his career. In 2017, for example, he missed the World Cup match in France against Finland.

Kekäläinen’s general manager even admitted that he may be considering ending his career early. “But I am more afraid that he has a normal life. He has a young family,” Finnish officials were quoted by The Athletic’s website.
