Despite the clear position of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the celebrations by the Russian embassy on May 9 in Warsaw, the capital hall is still trying to play a part in this issue. Trzaskowski’s deputy spokesman, Jakub Leduchowski, joined the case and said in a statement that Russia’s “Ministry of Foreign Affairs requests support in organizing the ceremony”. He gave a scan of the letter as evidence. What was the purpose of the Trzaskowski people’s war with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs?
– The Russian Embassy accepted the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs “with great regret”. There are no recommendations for ceremonies honoring the Soviets
– Celebration of May 9 Russia in Warsaw? Even a member of the Joint Party opposed! “It’s immoral to give space to the aggressor”
– The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects Trzaskowski to block the meeting organized by the Russian embassy! What will Warsaw City Hall do?
– The Russian Embassy wants to celebrate Victory Day in Warsaw. Przydacz recalls the “GW” text from last year: “Let’s light the candles on May 9”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically refuses to support the Russian embassy
Let us remember that the President of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, wrote on Saturday on social media that the Russian embassy wants to celebrate May 9 in Warsaw and asks for the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
I am very much against this. No Polish public agency should help with this initiative. Moreover, it should be banned. I don’t have my consent for the aggressor’s vacation in Warsaw
– wrote Trzaskowski. He attached a scan of the letter to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zbigniew Rau, with the entry.
The deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marcin Przydacz immediately commented on Trzaskowski’s entry on Twitter, writing that he was surprised to receive correspondence from President Rafał Trzaskowski.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland does not plan to provide support to the Embassy of the Russian Federation and will not provide such support. In response to the note – we communicated our negative position to the Russian Embassy. He also kindly informed the president that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland did not have the authority to ban the ceremony in Warsaw. In cases provided for by law, it can be carried out by the president of the city of Warsaw
– Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz was informed on Twitter on Saturday.
Following the entries by Trzaskowski and Przydacz, the capital hall also issued a statement. It said that the Warsaw Capital office received a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs addressed to the Ministry of Interior and Administration. As the city hall wrote, it indicated that the embassy of the Russian Federation planned for May 9 – the day Russia celebrates the end of World War II – a wreath-laying ceremony at the graves of Soviet soldiers in Warsaw.
In the same letter, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that “due to the political context, there is no justification for providing support beyond the requirements set out in the applicable regulations” – citing the position of the MFA at the capital city hall.
Also, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ukasz Jasina stressed that Minister Zbigniew Rau hoped that Warsaw President Rafał Trzaskowski would not approve the public meeting planned by the Russian embassy in Warsaw on May 9, and the deputy head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration Paweł Bossernaker assured that “no it is true that the ministry or state agency gave approval for this type of event”.
Capital hall manipulation
The mayor’s deputy spokesman, Jakub Leduchowski, also joined the case and wrote on Twitter that Rafał Trzaskowski “has no right to prohibit the holding of flower-laying ceremonies at graves – this is not a public gathering within the city. The intent of the law.”
He attached to his entry a statement with a call to the state service to take all possible measures to block the celebrations planned by the Embassy of the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs who received the letter related to the celebration, brothers and sisters who requested the support of the Ministry of Home Affairs to support the organization of the celebration.
– said Leduchowski, adding that the evidence was a scan of the letter.
One internet user asked Leduchowski why he lied, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clearly wrote to the Ministry of Interior and Administration that there is no justification for providing support.
(…) according to the Eastern Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, due to the political context, there is no reason to provide support beyond the requirements stipulated in the applicable regulations.
– write in the attached scan the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Why is city hall trying to mislead public opinion?
