Prague – Dancers Natalie and Filip Taschler are gathering energy for the third peak of the Olympic season before the World Figure Skating Championships, which kick off on Wednesday. After an eleventh place at the European Championships and a sixteenth place at the Beijing Olympics, they were able to strike a boost to 22nd place last year, when they did not advance to free dance. In preparation, not only did they work to refine the details of their program, but the sister pair also spent time reading textbooks. Taschler in high school.

“This season has been quite a long one for us. We’ve worked with the mental coach, we’re trying to muster up the last bit of energy. We’ll try to run what we can in training, we’ll definitely want to move up a few places,” Taschler told an online press conference before heading to Montpellier, France. There won’t be a strong Russian pair competing there, so the competition will be a bit weaker. “But otherwise most of those who have been to the Olympics will participate,” said the 22-year-old figure skater.

Her sister, who was two years her junior, was more nervous than the elementary school final exams of the upcoming World Championships. “I must say that I do nothing but study every day. I try to do a lot of work first so I can only focus on racing in the World Cup,” he said.

Unlike the Olympics, where the Czechs are represented in all categories, apart from dancers, only Eliška Březinová will compete in the World Championships. Jelizaveta uková’s sporting partner Martin Bidař had to withdraw due to injury and there was no substitute for Michal Březina in the men’s category, who did not go to the championship. Originally nominated by Georgia Reshtenko, she will eventually prepare for the April World Junior Championships. “It would probably be sadder, sadly we won’t be doing anything. We have at least Eliška there, so we’ll be looking forward to each other. We’re looking forward to the atmosphere. Taschler comments.

The pair dance competition is scheduled for the end of the World Cup program, as French organizers believe in the success of domestic Olympic champions Gabriela Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron. They are about to strike a fifth world title and maybe say goodbye to their careers. “Nothing has officially come out yet. Since we’ve spoken to other couples who train with them, most say they might end up. But so far it’s a conspiracy theory,” said Taschler.

They will make proper plans for summer preparations just after the world championships. But they already knew he and his Italy coach would be spending time in Detroit at home to coach Igor Shpilband. “We will exchange experiences. There will be other things to train with other couples, we will change the environment. Most of them are former junior couples, now they are going to seniors. This is our generation, we know the couple,” said Taschler.
