The West plays a dangerous, dirty and deadly game

Putin opened his annual address to the Valdai think tank by claiming that the West is seeking global domination.

– They are pouring fuel on fires in Ukraine, increasing provocations around Taiwan and destabilizing the world’s energy and food markets, Putin said.

– The last one might be accidental, we have no doubt about that. It happened because of a system failure, he said.

oppressor

Putin also criticized Western culture, which he said oppresses others.

– History will prove us right. The greatest genius of world culture will not be forgotten, said Putin, who quoted Fyodor Dostoyevsky in his speech.

Western democracy was also featured in the speech.

– Since colonial times, it has been their trademark to see others as inferior, while they themselves belong to the elite, he said.

Not the enemy

Russia does not see itself as an enemy of the West, but will never dance to the tune of Western countries, Putin stressed.

– We have tried to establish relations with the West and NATO, to make friends with them, he continued.

– But the West imposes sanctions on those who do not allow themselves to be controlled, Putin said.
