This time, the pumpkin exhibition in the botanical gardens in Troy will be inspired by Celtic culture

Botanical Gardens p. The city of Prague is once again preparing for a pumpkin setting show, this time inspired by the Celts and their culture. Visitors big and small can enjoy the amazing world of pumpkin arrangements and fruits of all shapes, colors and sizes. The exhibition, which runs from October 14 to 30, will also feature a giant pumpkin, which was once again promised by farmer Jan Staněk from Horní Bludovice. Its size remains a mystery for now. Additional farmers can enter the competition for the largest pumpkin. Mysterious pumpkin decorations will be prepared by students from the Mělník Czech Horticultural Academy. The accompanying program will be part of the exhibition.

The fall workshops will take place on the weekends of October 15 and 16, and the weekends of October 22 and 23 are Pumpkin Games, which will keep the whole family entertained. The entire event culminates on October 30 with Halloween celebrations and an after dark lantern parade.

The Troja Botanical Gardens is preparing another popular event for its visitors. The pumpkin exhibition and pumpkin arrangement will be taking place for the 15th time and will offer interested parties a wide variety of pumpkins and, through pumpkin decorations, introduce the well-known and lesser-known corners of the garden. “The pumpkin fair is traditionally the highlight of our fall program. Visitors can once again look forward to a weekend of fun with pumpkins, pumpkin making, as well as the popular Halloween lantern parade and cake baking. This year we have returned to the origins of Halloween, but we will not forget to point out the pagan customs of this period as well. Once again, we look forward to taking note of the results of Jan Staňko and other farmers who can participate in our competition,” he says Bohumil ern, Director of the Botanical Gardens of the city of Prague.

A garden full of pumpkins

Autumn brings with it morning mist and gloomy weather, but it can also be beautiful and colorful. The outdoor exposition of the Botanical Gardens m Prague, in particular the Horní zahrady area, which lies behind the entrance to the Bohnice estate, will be decorated with various colorful pumpkins and bright colors from October 14 to 30, which will bring positive energy even on a sunny day. -rainy day. This time, the pumpkin arrangements will be inspired by Celtic culture and the holiday of Samhain, from which Halloween emerged.

Autumn workshops and pumpkin games for young and old

Exhibitions in the botanical gardens will traditionally be accompanied by a weekend program. A creative fall-themed workshop was prepared for the first weekend of October 15 and 16. Those interested can paint on pebbles, make paper pumpkins, make their own clothing or accessories with leaf prints. On the weekend of October 22 and 23, Trojan Park visitors will enjoy the Pumpkin Game. Pumpkins will be available to those interested for a small fee, as well as a variety of natural objects that they can use in their creations. Kids and their parents can make various arrangements, animals and monsters from pumpkins and autumn fruits. There is no limit to imagination. Visitors can take their creations.

Halloween is full of fun for kids and adults

Although Halloween falls on Monday, October 31, we will celebrate it in the botanical gardens on Sunday, October 30. This year there will also be mysterious decorations, pumpkin carvings and decorations, spooky mask contests, and roasted dumplings. In the afternoon, there will be live music, and young and old can try various Celtic crafts. The program starts at 1pm and ends at 6pm with a traditional parade through the dark display of the garden with Halloween lights and lanterns.
