In the battle for “the biggest in the world”, the town of Stange in Hedmark has now made its choice.

And what could be better than mounting an 11.5 meter high and 2.5 meter wide sperm cell in highly polished steel along the E6?

Before Stangeavisa was the first to mention the statue which symbolizes some of the things Stange can be proud of, namely rich agricultural resources and bull semen exports.

– I think it’s a very interesting idea. For the municipality of Stange, it is very interesting to clarify what a municipality is, said the mayor of Stange, Nils A. Røhne from the Labor Party.

The mayor believes this work of art will reflect the culture, the excellent quality of the seeds of Geno’s experimental and breeding center, and the growing and developing agricultural city.

– Now I’m just waiting for Donald Trump to come on the field and claim that he has more important sperm cells than we have in Stange, but I don’t think so. Maybe we’ll have a discussion with Trump, said an enthusiastic Røhne.

NRK met several canvas enthusiasts on the street who had opinions about the new artwork.

– Damn, I know! I just saw it on Facebook. Whether it is a work of art depends on the eye of the beholder. I don’t think it’s a work of art, says Magne Hagen.

– I think it’s tough, I really have to say that, said Bjarne Lang-Ree.

He is confident that the new statue will be noticed and make the municipality famous, but he has plans to explain this to those closest to him.

– I spoke to my physiotherapist about it yesterday. We agreed that for the kids we should call them tadpoles. The danger may be the withdrawal effect on E6, which could be devastating, says Bjarne Lang-Ree.
