We celebrate World Kebab Day – July 14th!


Poles love kebabs! Originally associated with Middle Eastern oriental cuisine, it is growing in popularity every year. World Kebab Day (July 14) is approaching – according to the 2022 Food Trends Report prepared by Pyszne.pl – the third most popular dish “with home delivery” in our country.

Poles love kebabs and we have proof! The 2022 Food Trends Report and other statistics from the Pyszne.pl website confirm that:

  • Kebabs are the third most ordered dish in Poland. Only burgers and pizza are more popular,
  • is the most ordered dish in Wrocław, Lublin and Katowice,
  • second most ordered in Warsaw (right after butter chicken) and third in Gdańsk (after cheeseburgers and pizza margherita),
  • the leaders of the voivodeship are Śląskie, Dolnośląskie and Lubelskie – that’s where kebabs were most ordered in the last 365 days,
  • individual record: an impressive 680 kebabs ordered by a single user in the last 365 days,
  • 30% of active Pyszne.pl users ordered a kebab at least once in the last year,
  • The fastest growing cuisine in Poland in 2022 will be Middle Eastern cuisine. Last year, it also took first place in most major cities: Warsaw, Krakow, Wrocław, Poznań, Lublin and Katowice. In Gdańsk and Łódź, only Indian cuisine has surpassed it in popularity,
  • In the past year, among the dishes of this cuisine in Poland, the most popular were: rollo kebab (50% of orders) and kebab box (40% of orders),
  • Last year, we most often wanted to eat “kebs” on Sunday, Friday and Saturday, between 17.00 and 20.00,
  • The 13th course kebab on the Christmas table? Very likely! The most complete order containing kebabs is in December. This is more than 6% more than the annual average.
