Will it be another hit? Famous PUBG writers are preparing a new game

It’s been almost five years since the online shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds turned the game world upside down. From the fringe genre battle royalewhich enriched traditional shooters with elements of survival games, made them enjoyable for many, and whose popularity continues to this day thanks to games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, or Call of Duty: Warzone.

Korean fantasy seems original, or can do without elves and dwarves.

Luckily, designer Brendan Greene wasn’t complacent (nor did he fall into a depression like Minecraft writer Markuss “Notch” Persson) so he turned his talent in a new direction. Apart from wanting to push the shooter scale several orders of magnitude higher than today’s standards (see our article), it also doesn’t care about “over-the-top” single-player games.

It’s hard to say how much he will be personally involved in the development of the newly announced fantasy game, but only the connection with the newly announced title is reason enough to pay attention.

This new yet untitled feature will take place in the world of the successful Korean fantasy series by writer Lee Jong-da The Bird Who Drinks Tears. While not very well known in the West, this may change before the release of the game, whose development has only just begun. However, Asian fantasy is currently in vogue thanks to Liu Cch’-Sin and His Three Bodies Problem, so it’s possible that we’ll see a Czech edition too.

Unfortunately, aside from the announcement itself and two pretty good conceptual drawings, we still don’t know anything officially about the game, so we’ll have to wait.
