The Norwegian Football Association notified Lillestrøm on Tuesday night of the decision.

– We have been notified by the NFF that Akor received a two game suspension. We’ll take note of that. We already know that he can’t play against HamKam, so we are prepared for that and will work on it. Akor has also been informed of the decision, sporting director and interim head coach Simon Mesfin told Romerikes Blad.

The suspension means Adams will miss the home game against HamKam next Sunday and the away game against Tromsø on 6 August.

– We are very clear that such behavior on the ground is unacceptable. He alone knows that. He was a deeply repentant sinner and lay prostrate.

That’s what LSK’s sporting director and interim coach, Simon Mesfin, told VG on Monday, about the Adams Chord boom that followed. 0-1 loss against Haugesund.

At the whistle, TV images showed Adams apparently kicking towards Haugesund goalkeeper Anders Bærtelsen.

Adams immediately got into a scuffle with several Haugesund players and received his second yellow card, and thus red card, for his temper. Adams tried to block the referee while Lillestrøm’s players had to use force to send off the 23 year old.

– I saw that he had an unfamiliar behavior, which we had never experienced before. I have to say that I was a little surprised myself, not just a little bit, very surprised, said Mesfin.

Mesfin said he would chat with Adams on Monday. He didn’t want to go into detail about what they talked about, but he could tell about a player who was very upset.

– He knows that he is a strong role model for many young people. He was annoyed with his team-mates, the club, the opponents and everyone involved. He was embarrassed by his behavior, and it showed that he was a very conscientious person, said Mesfin.

– We as a club do not accept this kind of behaviour, but we have to accept that people make mistakes. We’ve given him notice that it’s unacceptable, and he completely agrees, Mesfin said.
