Israel accuses Hamas of waging war from hospitals – Dagsavisen

– Hamas has turned hospitals into command and control centers and hideouts for terrorists and their leaders, Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said on Thursday.

In a press conference on Friday, Hagari showed photos, drawings and audio recordings that supposedly support accusations that Hamas specifically exploited the Shifa hospital in Gaza City.

– Hamas terrorists operate in and under Shifa hospital and other hospitals in Gaza, Hagari said.

The Israeli army’s accusations could not be verified.

In both this and previous wars, Israel has received international criticism for attacking hospitals and schools in the Gaza Strip, and claims that they were used by Hamas are long-standing.

A spokesman for Hamas’ political leadership, Ezzat El-Reshiq, denied the accusations.

– What the spokesperson of the enemy army claims has no basis in truth, he wrote on Telegram.

The spokesperson further accused Israel of spreading lies to prepare “a new massacre of our people.”

In a press conference at Shifa Hospital on Friday evening, the head of the Hamas government’s press office in Gaza also rejected Israel’s accusations.

– Israel uses technology to make voice recordings, says Salama Marouf.

According to Marouf, there is no evidence that Hamas has tunneled and set up command centers under hospitals where thousands of Palestinians have sought refuge.
