Repairs not only from Germany. The government also wants to recover land from the Czechs – Wprost

Since early September, one of the main topics in public debate has been the issue of war reparations. During the official presentation of the report on the losses suffered by our country in connection with the aggression and occupation of Nazi Germany during World War II, Jarosław Kaczyński announced that the Polish government made the decision to formally demand compensation from our western neighbor. The report covers amounts up to PLN 6 billion 200 billion.

The government will file a claim against the Czechs?

According to Rzeczpospolita, claims must be made not only against Germany, but also against the Czechs. It was about the division of the Polish-Czechoslovak border in the 1950s, which was unfavorable for Poland. In total, the Czech Republic had to return more than 368 hectares to Poland.

Disputes over this issue began in the early 1990s. At that time, this matter was within the competence of the Polish-Czech Border Commission. In 2005, the Czech government offered to pay Poland financial compensation, but was later refused. – It was the right decision – Law and Justice MP Jarosław Krajewski told reporters. It was these politicians who finally urged the party leadership to seriously address the issue of land reclamation.

Jan Olbrycht argues otherwise. MEP Civic Coalition assessed that PiS chose the worst moment to clash with its neighbors. – The time at which Europe and the world found itself as a result of the war between Russia and Ukraine was not good for dealing with controversial issues with its neighbors – he explained, adding that Polish-Czech relations were badly damaged by the dispute over my Turow.
