The cross-country World Cup race in France is in jeopardy – the FIS is working on an alternative

Basically the launch is scheduled for the last weekend of January, from Friday 27th January to Sunday 29th January.

The race is really the last for those who want to show themselves before the team WC must be registered on Monday 30 January.

The International Ski Federation (FIS) is working on an alternative if it is finally canceled in France. Italian Toblach, or somewhere in Switzerland’s Engadin valley could be a substitute.

The manager of the cross-country ski national team at the Norwegian Ski Association, Espen Bjervig, was informed Thursday afternoon that the FIS was holding off on a decision on whether the slopes in France should be moved.

The FIS stated that snow and colder weather had been reported, and that colder weather was also possible to produce snow.

– The decision has been postponed to January 16. This is due to positive weather forecasts. If cancelled, we hope the venue isn’t too high. If it ends up being a race in Engadin, we’ll have to travel straight up the altitude after NM to acclimate. The Engadin is high, said the Manager of the Cross-Country Ski National Team, Espen Bjervig, to NTB.

Toblach will also host a cross-country World Cup race on February 3 and 4, the weekend after the scheduled race at Les Rousses.

Les Rousses is a small town in Eastern France and right on the border with Switzerland.
