Video: Unwanted Ivanka. Trump's daughter tries to push world leaders

Ivanka Trump was awkward when attending the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan. US President Donald Trump's daughter unsuccessfully tried to take part in conversations between four world leaders – British Prime Minister Theresa May, French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the head of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde. In addition, the entire scene was recorded on video.

In a recording from Osaka that is now circulating on social media, for example, Macron can be heard talking about “social justice”. Trump briefly agreed, before May rejected it, saying: “But once you start talking about the economic aspect, a lot of people who didn't want to listen before, start to listen.”

But the rest of society also didn't pay much attention to Trump's next reaction.

“Just like defense, I think in terms of…,” Trump began, only to be cut off by Lagarde's glare, “… that defense is dominated by men,” Trump said after an interruption and a wild hand gesture.

Trump has faced criticism in the past for de facto representing his father, the US president, at several high-profile events. For example, when he took part in a discussion on health and migration in Africa at the G20 meeting in Hamburg in 2017.
