Warholm shot because of rumors of a super duel
Karsten Warholm and Armand “Mondo” Duplantis joked about who was fastest in the 100 meters in Monaco last summer, which attracted a lot of attention in the world of athletics.
This topic was picked up in Zurich after the WC – and the conclusion may be coming soon.
– If you look at it now, it looks like it will be (a duel), said Karsten Warholm in the latest episode Athletics podcastwhich will be released on Friday morning.
– Mondo (Duplantis) get ready. I'm ready and we have some co-sponsors in Puma and Red Bull, who are also ready.
The super duel will most likely take place after the season ends. First, the two world record holders will defend their Olympic gold medals in the 400 meter hurdles and pole vault in Paris.
They can then find out who is the fastest.
– I want to be arrogant, but I realize that I was the loser in that duel, I definitely dare to claim it. I think Mondo understands that too, Warholm said.
Armand Duplantis has run as fast as 10.69 seconds in the 100 meter dash in 2018 (10.57 with negative pull), and is considered the fastest pole vaulter.
Karsten Warholm is listed at 10.49 percent in the room, but the percentage is more than seven years old.
– Our Persian distance is not very far. It's been a long time since I ran. It's been a long time since he ran too. “I've probably done more running practice since then than he did,” the Norwegian said in the podcast.
Warholm's mother and manager, Kristine Haddal, wrote in a message to NRK that there were no specific plans for the race yet and they had no further information at this time.
