The fact that the success of many fathers was perfectly attested by the invitation to tomorrow’s celebrations associated with the unveiling of the Witold Pilecki monument at the Center for Public Service. The event was invited not only by the mayor who was the initiator of the idea, but also by MP Janusz Kowalski and the National Movement.

On Saturday at 17.00 there will be a solemn unveiling of the monument to Witold Pilecki at the Center for Public Services in Opole. Invitations to this event did not only come from the initiator of the event, but also from a group of politicians.

– In connection with today’s email sent by MP Janusz Kowalski’s office, I would like to inform you that the celebrations regarding the opening of the Witold Pilecki monument were organized by the Opole City Hall, and the monument itself was funded by the ECO company. Janusz Kowalski, or any other politician, had nothing to do with this event. We are shocked and embarrassed by the fact that MP Janusz Kowalski “invited” to a celebration he had nothing to do with. With this “invitation” Janusz Kowalski crossed another line of decency. In any case, not the first and not the last – Adam Leszczyński, spokesman for the Opole Town Hall, wrote in a statement.

Scouts, social workers, landowners and artists, Polish Army officers and conspirators. Participant in the struggle for independence of the Republic of Poland. After the outbreak of World War II, he played an active role in defending the motherland. He is considered by historians as one of the bravest people in the world. He died after the war in 1948, sentenced to death by a communist court. His body has not been found to date.

The National Movement also invited residents to inaugurate the Witold Pilecki monument. – The Opole National Movement will participate in the inauguration of the monument to Captain Witold Pilecki on May 13 in Opole. All questions regarding the inauguration of the monument to Witold Pilecki and our position on this matter will be answered by the leaders of the National Movement during the ceremony – wrote Bartłomiej Czuchnowski, Opole Spokesperson for the National Movement.
