Ingenious car elaboration
“The 911 Sally Special is based on the fastest and most agile variant of the 911 Carrera model series, the 911 Carrera GTS. This car is equipped with a manual transmission,” explains Boris Apenbrink, director of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. “The Sally model is one of the most intense, emotional and detailed Sonderwunsch projects our team has worked on. One example is the car being painted in Sally Blue Metallic, a special color created especially for this project. Of course, we also thought about Sally’s tattoo. Implementing it is a challenge.”
The rims were redesigned by Porsche designers at Weissach and made especially for this model. The “five-spoke design” rims have been adapted to the 20/21-inch wheels with the dimensions of the current 911 generation and create a visual connection to the generation 996 911 on which the Sally Carrera is based.
Porsche interior designer Daniela Milošević led the team that worked with Pixar to design the new blue color as well as the interior of the car. “We were given total freedom, which is great! In the film, Sally Carrera is a lawyer from California who values style and elegance. At the same time, he loves entertainment, and that’s what we wanted to create.”
