VG is looking for ambitious SEO analyst

Why don’t recipes from Godt.no always appear at the top of Google, while Godt.no belongs to the VG family, Norway’s largest traffic engine? We’re looking for those of you who want to help do something to win the battle for search terms and to get to the No. 1 on Google for all VG niche pages.

More and more niche sites are being developed these days, and are rapidly building a position on Google. Big brands are also working more with Google traffic than ever before. Competition for readers outside of VG is getting stronger and we now need an SEO analyst who can take VG-only pages and strengthen their position in search.

You will be responsible for securing positions and traffic from Google, especially for the VG niche; Godt.no, Tek.no, and MinMote.no and many more. You will also be involved in working with new initiatives in the VG niche and strengthening existing services. You will work closely with our dedicated editorial team and development team.

You will be part of VG commercial department and SEO team where your direct manager is VG SEO specialist. You will be involved in ensuring competency improvement internally in both the commercial and editorial departments.

Together with the VG niche manager, you will have a strategy and goals for SEO work and ensure delivery according to this.

What will you do?

  • Setting strategies and goals for SEO work in the niche in collaboration with SEO specialists and editors
  • Ensure that the VG niche is at the top of relevant searches, especially on Google, by working with SEO and content production
  • Create simple driving rules for improving SEO that can be applied to a niche
  • Create content production plans to increase traffic based on keyword analysis and other insights
  • Collaborate closely with editorial and development staff to achieve goals


We are looking for you as:

  • Knowing SEO analysis to your fingertips (technical and on page)
  • Have a lot of knowledge about SEO, up-to-date professionally and can apply it in practice. Use and have good knowledge of tools like Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz and/or KWFinder.
  • See solutions, test new ideas, and get things done
  • Flexible and fast growing in daily life
  • Is a team player who likes to help out when needed
  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience in a similar job

Your first year:

After a month, you see traffic growth from search. You have carried out your first act with great success, and have gained firm ownership of the services for which you are specifically responsible. You work well with editors and developers, and have a plan for everything you want to get done.

. Your employees are impressed by your initiative and drive, and how you’ve picked up a niche to increase focus on getting more traffic from search. Tek.no has increased its revenue by 20% because you have made the test reach No. 1 on Google.
